Krishak Bandhu Scheme
The Chief Minister of West Bengal has launched the Krishak Bandhu Scheme so that the farmers will be able to avail the benefits of crop insurance provided to them. This will redress the issues of crop failure if the crop has been damaged due to any natural disaster. An amount of Rs. 1000/- will be provided to the selected farmers.
Financial incentives of Rs. 5,000/- and a life insurance amount of Rs. 2 lakhs will be provided or awarded to the small as well as marginal farmers so that they will be able to continue their agriculture profession. For this, they will need to apply online for the Krishak Bandhu Scheme. One can apply online before the last date.

Objectives of Krishak Bandhu Scheme
The major objective of launching the Krishak Bandhu Scheme is to provide help and support to the farmers in West Bengal. Its main goal is to provide financial support to farmers so they can earn more money and have a better life. This scheme also helps farmers buy things they need for farming like seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides.
Another objective of launching the Krishak Bandhu Scheme is to provide financial aid of Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000/- annually to every landholding farmer for farming activities and the purchase of agricultural inputs. It aims to improve the financial security of the farmers and help them manage their farming activities better.
Beneficiary Category
The applicants will also need to attain the beneficiary category on the basis of which this scheme has been launched. The applicants will need to make sure that they have possessed the beneficiary category. The benefit of this scheme will be provided to the farmers residing in West Bengal state.

A total of 72 lakhs farmers belonging to marginal and small farming families will be able to get the benefit of this scheme which ensures that around 72 lakhs farmers will be given life insurance and an assured amount.

Krishak Bandhu Scheme Assured Amount
The amount of incentive that will be provided or awarded to the farmers has already been fixed in advance so that the government will be able to utilize and allocate the funds in the right and appropriate manner. An amount of Rs. 5,000/- will be provided to each farmer.
Krishak Bandhu Scheme Life Insurance Amount
The farmers who have been shortlisted for getting the benefit of this scheme are not only limited to receiving the assured amount that has been fixed but they will also be able to receive the life insurance amount in the form of a death benefit so that they will be able to provide financial support to their family members after their death. Life insurance amount of Rs. 2,00,000/- will be provided to the beneficiary.
