Objectives Of DDA Housing Scheme 

The major objective of launching the DDA Housing Scheme is to provide flats or accommodation facilities to landless residents who can’t afford to purchase houses because of financial instabilities. After getting an online registration for this scheme, the residents of Delhi state will be able to purchase the flats being offered to them at reasonable prices. 

Another objective of launching the DDA Housing Scheme is to provide a home to live among the applicants belonging to the sections of HIG, MIG, LIG, EWS, etc. A total of 18,000 flats will be sold among the eligible beneficiaries so that they will be able to carry out their living facilities. 

Approval of DDA IV Phase

Phase IV of the DDA Housing Scheme has been launched which means it has been approved by the Delhi Development Authority by which there are around 5000 flats that will be sold at the cheaper or affordable rates among the beneficiaries belonging to the HIG, LIG, and MIG. These flats will be provided to the beneficiaries on a first-come, first-served basis online. The sale of flats will commence from June 30 onwards.

DDA Designated Locations For Flat Sales

Some various locations or regions have been set up by the DDA so that they will be able to sell these flats. The locations such as Rohini, Narela, Siraspur, and Loknayakpuram have been selected. Relevant buyers can choose these locations to carry out the purchasing procedure for these flats. The beneficiaries will need to initiate the process of purchasing by paying a token booking amount.

Additional Benefits for Buyers

2 other options have been added to these flats so that the buyers will be able to optimize the use of these options while residing in these flats. The first option will provide the reliability to the residents to sell their flats back to DDA, and in return, the authority will reimburse the cost of capital along with interest and stamp duty paid upon purchase. The second option entails the reconstruction of flats, where DDA provides newly built flats in the same location with the same specifications.

DDA to Pay Rent During Construction Period

There are around 3024 flats for which the DDA will pay rent during the construction process or period that has been built at Kalkaji Extension under an in-situ slum rehabilitation project. Out of which there are around 1862 flats have already been allotted to eligible families from Bhoomiheen Camp, while the remaining 1,162 will be allotted to around 1,500 eligible families from Navjeevan Camp, Govindpuri, Kalkaji.

DDA Completes EWS Flats in Jailorwala Bagh

There are around 1675 flats that have been constructed for the EWS communities residing at Jailorwala Bagh out of which 1,093 households were allotted flats through a draw of lots. The remaining flats will be allocated to families residing in nearby JJ clusters.  The authority has also decided to introduce a 10% increase in rates for conversion charges, starting from 2022-23. The development aims to provide affordable housing options to eligible families in Delhi.

A target of providing or distributing around 18000 flats among the eligible beneficiaries such as HIG, MIG, LIG, and EWS sections has been set up. Around 572 no. of flats have been made available for economically weaker sections of society. 202 flats are available for higher-income groups, and 976 flats are available for middle-level groups.
