It helps startup entrepreneurs and student entrepreneurs by paying for the cost of getting a patent, up to Rs. 2 lakhs for Indian patents. They can also get up to Rs. 10 lacks for successful applications for foreign patents. The process includes three steps such as filing, prosecution, and reimbursement.

Now the new enterprises will be able to get set up in Kerala because the Kerala Patent Support Scheme has been launched. Entrepreneurs and students can apply through the KSUM website. Applications submitted before the 20th of each month will be processed that month. Applications submitted after the 20th will be processed in the following month.

Objectives Of Kerala Patent Support Scheme 

The major objective of launching the Kerala Patent Support Scheme is to help startups and students with the costs of getting patents for their inventions. This is part of a big effort in Kerala to encourage innovation. The program will repay the costs of patent applications made by registered lawyers after November 9, 2015. The aim is to support entrepreneurship and innovation in the state.

  • New companies registered in Kerala within ten years of incorporation with a DIPP and Udyog Aadhar number

  •  Only patent applications filed after 09.11.2015 will be considered.
