On March 10 2022, MSME Idea Hackathon was launched which has opened its doors to Indian citizens, offering them the opportunity to apply online for loans ranging from Rs. 15 lakhs to 1 crore in support of their business ideas. This hackathon aims to inspire and nurture innovative business concepts among the country’s youth. With the help of this program, young entrepreneurs are encouraged to bring new and creative business ideas to fruition.
Entrepreneurs can receive loans ranging from Rs. 15,00,000/- to Rs. 1,00,00,000/- after getting an online registration offered under the MSME Idea Hackathon. This financial assistance will help individuals start their own businesses and create jobs. To be eligible, entrepreneurs must come up with innovative ideas for job creation. Objectives of MSME Idea Hackathon
The first objective of the MSME Idea Hackathon is to foster the growth of new, innovative businesses in India. This will provide a platform to the new entrepreneurs for aspiring entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas and receive feedback and support from industry experts and mentors. By nurturing new business ideas, there will be a creation of a vibrant ecosystem of innovative MSMEs that can contribute to India’s economic growth and development.
The second objective of the MSME Idea Hackathon is to support existing MSMEs in scaling up their businesses. Proper mentoring and support will be provided to the MSMEs looking to expand their operations or enter new markets. Applicants will be able to learn about best practices in areas such as marketing, sales, and finance with the help of workshops and one-on-one interactions resulting in achieving sustainable growth.

Women Welcomed to the Idea Hackathon
The second edition of ‘Hackathon 2.0’ is set to be announced alongside the launch of ‘MSME Idea Hackathon 3.0’, exclusively for women entrepreneurs. The program also includes a digital fund transfer of Rs. 400 crores for margin money subsidy to 10,075 PMEGP beneficiaries, certification distribution to gold and silver ZED-certified MSMEs, and the signing of MoUs among central government organizations.
