YSR Rythu Bharosa 1st & 2nd Installment
The amount of 1st and 2nd installments of the Rythu Bharosa scheme for farmers has been released by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh so that farmer communities of SC/ST/Minority/BC categories will be able to get their benefits. An amount of Rs. 4000 and Rs. 2000 will be transferred to their bank accounts. The beneficiary list will also be provided to the Gram Panchayat office and online.
Some Important Guidelines
Some of the important guidelines issued are as follows:-
- To receive benefits from the YSR Rythu Bharosa scheme, farmers must comply with regulations.
- There are no restrictions on land holdings for landowner families.
- Tenant farmers must take on a minimum required area of land for lease, depending on the crops they grow.
- One acre is required for agriculture, sericulture, or horticulture.
- Half an acre of land is mandatory for those growing vegetables, flowers, and fodder crops.
- Those growing beta vines must take on at least 0.1 acres.
Budget Amount Disbursement
The government has allocated a total budget of Rs. 5,739 crore for various projects in agriculture and other sectors. Out of this, Rs. 782 crores is earmarked for providing zero-interest agriculture loans to farmers. Another Rs. 1,282 crore will be allocated for various other projects. The largest chunk of the budget, i.e., Rs. 3,675 crores, will be utilized for releasing the first installment amount for ongoing projects in different sectors.
AP Government’s Plan to Boost Agriculture Sector
There are various measures that have been undertaken by the government in order to boost the growth of the agriculture sector. Some of the new measures will be for farmers to have access to interest-free loans, with free electricity provided for up to nine hours per day. Tenant farmers will receive an annual payment of 2,500 rupees, while godowns and cold storage facilities will be made available in all 175 assembly constituencies to prevent crop wastage.
Govt Launches Subsidies Scheme For Farmers
The government has introduced a new scheme that aims to support farmers across the country. Under this initiative, pending irrigation projects will be completed, while borewell facilities for crops will be provided. In addition, road tax for tractors will be waived for all farmers and subsidies will be given to milk contributors. The program will also offer assistance to farmers affected by natural calamities, ensuring their economic well-being.
Minimum Agricultural Land Requirement
The applicant or farmer will need to own at least 5 acres of agricultural land if he or she has to get benefits offered under this scheme. This will make sure that the farmer has enough land to cultivate crops and engage in agricultural activities. Owning sufficient land also allows farmers to generate income through the sale of their crops and contribute to the food supply chain.
Review and Monitoring Mechanism
The state and district-level committees have been established for review, monitoring, and grievance redressal in agriculture in Andhra Pradesh. The state-level committee is headed by the principal secretary of agriculture and cooperation, while the district-level committee is headed by the district collector. Additionally, a committee will be formed at the Mandal level, headed by a tahsildar. All committees will be responsible for addressing grievances, and should ideally dispose of them within two weeks’ time.
Verification Process
The verification of the beneficiary’s data uploaded in the portal will also be carried out which will purify and rectify any errors found in the data. For this, a multi-purpose extension officer will be hired. For the facilitation of accuracy, a 5% random verification at the Mandal level and 2% verification at the divisional level will be taken up. DC will be delegated the task of carrying out the supervision of the entire process. Deputy Collector will be held responsible for the integration of data sources with the use of web land, household, survey, income tax, and pensioner data.
