Affordable Rental Housing Scheme

The Central Government with the active participation of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Affordable Rental Housing Scheme has been launched so that the government will be able to provide proper housing and living facilities to the citizens belonging to the needy and poor sections of society. With the help of this scheme, the citizens will be able to avail the housing facilities for themselves.

Now urban migrants/poor communities will be able to avail the housing facilities after getting an online registration offered under the Affordable Rental Housing Scheme. This scheme or program is the subsidiary part of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) that has been launched for urban residents. Objectives Of Affordable Rental Housing Scheme

The major objective of launching the Affordable Rental Housing Scheme is to provide affordable rental houses to poor and migrant citizens. The goal is to give them the necessary facilities and a good environment. The scheme aligns with the self-reliant India campaign. The government is constructing houses on vacant land to achieve its target of housing for all.

Another objective of launching the Affordable Rental Housing Scheme is to provide affordable housing options for low-income individuals and families. Applicable Annual Income Limit

The annual income limit that will be applicable to the eligible beneficiaries is as follows:-

Minimum Annual Income Limit Rs. 3 Lakhs
Maximum Annual Income Limit Rs. 6 Lakhs

Budget Allocation

For the proper implementation of this scheme, the government has also set up or fixed the budget amount that will be used at the time of allocating the amount in the right manner. This scheme will be funded by the National Housing Bank. They have set aside Rs 10000 crore in this fund to provide financial assistance to housing finance companies. The Reserve Bank of India allocates funds for this centrally sponsored scheme.

24 Indian States to Launch ARHS Scheme

The central government of India is planning to implement an affordable rental housing scheme in partnership with 24 states. These states have agreed to sign agreements with the government within a month. The scheme aims to provide affordable rental housing options to people in need.
