Objectives Of Telangana Sheep Distribution Scheme
The major objective of the Telangana Sheep Distribution Scheme is to provide financial aid to the Gola and Kurma communities, who face discrimination and economic disadvantages. The government aims to distribute one sheep to each person in these communities. This scheme helps uplift the communities by offering them an opportunity for economic stability and growth.
The second objective of launching the Telangana Sheep Distribution Scheme is to improve the livelihoods of Golla and Kurma caste members by providing them with training and support in sheep rearing, so they can earn a sustainable income and become self-reliant. - The government received 28,335 applications for the scheme.
- 360 sheep units were provided to eligible citizens of the state.
- A budget allocation of Rs 4210 crore was made in the state in 2019 for the scheme.
Implementation of 2nd Phase
The successful implementation of this scheme for 2nd phase has been carried out in the below-mentioned ways:-

- Implementation period: 2021-22 and 2022-23

The State government is giving insurance to sheep for when they die, but shepherds are having trouble getting their claims on time. There is not enough staff to help, so the shepherds have to give certain documents like a death certificate, tag, photo, and post-mortem report to get the money.
