The State Government of West Bengal has launched the Kanyashree Prakalpa Scheme so that the girl students will be able to carry out classes from 8th to 12th with the help of scholarship amounts provided or awarded to them. An amount of Rs. 750/- on an annual basis will be awarded to them on the basis of the beneficiary limitation that has been fixed. 

To secure the interests of girls belonging to economically backward families who are unable to afford the costs associated with education, Kanyashree Prakalpa Scheme has been launched so that the government will be able to enable them to continue their studies and also stop them from dropping out of school or college due to financial constraints.

Objectives Of Kanyashree Prakalpa Scheme

The primary objective of the Kanyashree Prakalpa Scheme is to empower female students by providing them with opportunities for education and skill development. This is achieved through the disbursement of an annual scholarship to girls aged 13-18 years, enabling them to pursue higher studies and vocational training. Girls will also be given marriage assistance whenever they get turned to 18 years.

Another key objective of launching the Kanyashree Prakalpa Scheme is to reduce the rate of school dropouts among girls in West Bengal, India.
