The first category includes degree holders in specific fields who will receive Rs 5 lakh assistance, and the second category comprises graduates, ITI, and Polytechnic pass-outs who will receive Rs 2 lakh assistance.

The students can undertake various courses or degrees being offered to them.

Another objective of launching the Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme is to provide financial assistance to eligible candidates, with each candidate receiving Rs 5 lakhs disbursed in two installments. The first installment of Rs 2.5 lakhs is non-repayable, while the remaining Rs 2.5 lakh is interest-free and refundable but not due for repayment until five years have elapsed.

Beneficiary Category

The students will need to possess the main beneficiary category that has been fixed or ascertained by the selection body or the authorized body in order to get an online registration for this scheme. This scheme can only be undertaken by the residents of Assam state who are the students belonging to the categories of ST, SC, and OBC.

Ineligible Beneficiaries

These beneficiaries will not be given registration who are:-

• Not a Permanent Resident of Assam
• Age is less than 28 years or more than 40 years for the general category and more than 43 years for SC/ST/OBC
• Educational qualification is less than 10th class for the general category and less than 10th class for SC/ST/OBC
• Lacks knowledge or skills to start an income-generating activity
• Not registered in the Employment Exchange Office before 1st April 2023
• A loan defaulter

The applicants will also need to possess or attain the minimum age limit that has been ascertained or fixed up by the selection body or the authorized body delegated for selecting the eligible beneficiaries.
